I hold my clients in unconditional positive regard without judgement.
I value my clients autonomy and self-determination.
I show up as my genuine self, and extend the invitation for you to do the same.
We build a safe and secure relationship, which sets the stage for curious exploration.
Please reach us at jzukewich.counselling@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
J Zukewich Counselling offers mostly individual and online sessions. I do have some availability for in person work, and have latitude to create a way to connect that works for both of us.
I offer free consult calls to prospective clients. These are 15 minute, informal sessions, that mostly serve as a way for you to see how our relationship feels. It is also a way for you to ask any specific questions or express needs. On my end I usually only ask questions that pertain to my scope of practice. I try to figure out if I can be of service to you, or if a referral would better support you.
During your first session my main goal is to understand why you are interested in counselling and why now. Over the course of the first few sessions we will get to know each other, but filling in my intake form is secondary to building relationship and understanding your motivations.
You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the counselling process and my approach.
A counseling session with J Zukewich Counselling typically lasts for 50 minutes, although session length may vary depending on your specific needs and preferences.

I live, work and play in the traditional and unceded territory of the Ktunaxa, the Kinbasket (Secwepemc), Syilx, and Sinixt Peoples. Part of my commitment as a mental health practitioner is to continue to learn about my role as a settler here and to seek out opportunities for reconciliation.
